They be based on treasures currently marked as undiscovered at the time of production. From time to time, The Captain may produce treasure maps to be hidden or given durin' special moments, events or destinations. No map shall be generated fer treasures previously discovered.
From time to time, a treasure map may be discovered within a cache box or other secret location (including online destinations). These type of maps be generated with up to date information, but the accuracy may be questionable if a significant period of time has passed between the time of production and the time of yer discovery.

In addition to the 49 states containin' treasures, there be multiple islands throughout the Caribbean Sea n The Bahamas with current treasures safely hidden.
